Wordsearch

Wordsearches are a fun way for students to interact with new vocabulary. Teachers can use wordsearches in multiple subjects and for various purposes. The word search created above was used for Spelling. I plugged a spelling list into the wordsearch tool and created sentences that students must complete using their words. By adding sentences to the wordsearch, students can see the words they are learning in a context that they would be used in. The also get more practice writing and spelling their words when they complete the sentences. The wordsearch itself serves to familiarize the students with their spelling words. By looking for the words, they are constantly aware of how they should be spelled. Wordsearches can also be used for learning vocabulary for history and science lessons. I think adding the interactive sentences to these wordsearches is very important. Through this, the students are responsible for understanding how the vocabulary is used, and they also gain a greater understanding of what the words mean.
